In A World With Books was delighted to participate in MEND Poverty’s Back to School Backpack Program.  In addition to new backpacks with school supplies, each child received two books.

MEND (Meet Each Need With Dignity) provides an array of services to individuals and families in California’s San Fernando Valley including a food bank, clothing center and homeless care services.  These programs and services not only help people in crisis by meeting their immediate needs but enable individuals the to develop the skills and find the resources to overcome the challenges they face.

This brings me great joy. This is some of the work that our nonprofit does. In A World With Books is continuing to give books to underserved children!

Pictured below with our board member Pat Jackson Woolridge who coordinates this holiday giveaway, and books by our partners at Gibbs-Smith publishing, the children each receive a book and a bear! Thank you to Pat and to our partners

for your investment of time and resources to bring a smile, a bear snuggle, and a new book for our children.
