The mission of In A World With Books is to make a positive, lasting impact on the lives of disadvantaged and underprivileged children by giving them free books. Books they can hold, read and take home. Our goal is to foster good reading habits that will develop a love of reading at an early age.
With your generous donations and our partnership with Scholastics, we are able to serve these children whether in a shelter or a school setting, by giving each one a beautiful new book.
We don’t just give kids books. We read to and with the students, and, in some places, their parents, to demonstrate how fun, entertaining, and imagination-expanding books can be. We engage older students in discussions about the impact of reading in their lives, not only in school, but reading for pleasure.
Our goal is to make the receiving and ownership of a new book more meaningful for everyone involved.
